How Restricted Dates Apply

Introduction

Restricted dates are a critical feature that allows admin users to configure dates that cannot be selected as closing dates, ensuring compliance with regional holidays and other restrictions. This feature provides flexibility as restricted dates may change year to year and vary by region. Implementing restricted dates helps streamline operations, prevents scheduling conflicts on public holidays, and ensures accurate closing date selection. This guide will walk you through the configuration and management of restricted dates within our software.

Restricted Dates Configuration

Restricted dates can be created and managed by admin users with the necessary permissions in the Manager Portal. To configure restricted dates, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Manager Portal from the top left menu.
  2. Click on the Restricted Dates option within the left navigation panel.

Restricted Dates Items, Their Description & Functionality

Name* - The Name field represents the holiday or occasion for which the date is restricted (e.g., Thanksgiving, Christmas).

Region* -  The Region field specifies the geographic regions (provinces/territories) where the restricted date applies. This field is a multiselect dropdown, allowing you to select one or more provinces or territories. If the restricted date applies nationwide, select the "Any Region" option.

Dates - The Dates field refers to the date(s) the restriction is active. You can configure either a single date or a date range (period of consecutive days). For a single restricted date, select the same date in both the Start Date and End Date fields. Leaving the End Date blank or as N/A will result in the system not recognizing the restriction.

Search Box - Located at the top left corner of the section. In the search box you are able to enter text/keywords related to the previously created restricted dates. All restricted dates within the search criteria in them will appear in a list view.

Sort the Restricted Dates List - You can sort the restricted dates list by ascending or descending order. Simply click on the arrow icon next to the column header you wish to sort by. When the arrow points upwards, the list is sorted in ascending order; when it points downwards, it is sorted in descending order. The arrow in the sorted column will remain fixed, indicating your chosen criteria.

Note: The sort function on the date field is currently non-functional.

Add New Restricted Dates Button - This is used to add new restricted dates. When selecting this button a pop up will appear with fields to input data. The fields consist of: Name*, Region* and Dates.

Column List Headers

Ellipsis - Clicking on the ellipsis opens up the option to delete a restricted date entry.

Items Per Page - Depending on how large your list is, you may have more than one page of restricted dates. To navigate through the pages, use the Items per page navigation at the bottom right hand side of your screen. With this functionality, you can indicate how many items per page you would like to see in groups of 10, 15, 25, 50, or 100. You can see how many pages there are and scroll forwards and backwards through the pages if need be.

Adding a Restricted Date

To add a new restricted date, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the "Add New Restricted Date" button.
  2. A pop-up will appear with fields to fill out.
  3. Fill out the appropriate details:
  • Name: Enter the name of the holiday or occasion.
  • Region: Select the applicable region(s) from the dropdown.   Note that ‘Any Region’ by default means all regions.

Note: The fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.

To understand how the Restricted Dates configuration in the Manager Portal carries through to the application level, refer to the How Restricted Dates Apply section, just below. Alternatively, you can refer to the Restricted Dates section of the Loan Details Widget PFG.

How Restricted Dates Apply

When a user selects a Closing Date that falls on a restricted date, the system will automatically display a warning to prompt the user to take action. Hovering over the warning icon reveals a tooltip message, clearly informing the user of the restriction. This allows users to take note of the conflict and make any necessary adjustments to the Closing Date.

In the example below, the restricted dates have been set from December 24, 2024 to December 25, 2024.

Thus, the restricted date warning and tooltip will be displayed across the following sections:

  • Loan Details Widget: Under both the Requested Mortgage and Commitment sections.

  • Generate Documents: In the 'Commitment' section.

  • Manual Application Creation: When manually creating a new application.

This video demonstrates how the system recognizes a restricted date and provides a user with a warning: Display a warning if closing date is restricted.mkv

  • FundMore Score Widget:  If this setting is enabled, a risk warning will appear in the FundMore Score widget if a closing date is set to a restricted date in the Manager Portal. Users can remove the risk warning by updating the closing date to a non-restricted date.updating the closing date to a date that is not restricted.

Note: This is a tenant setting. To enable it in your environment, contact the Client Success Team.
